We recently went to the van Gogh Immersion in Charlotte. For us, it was a wonderful encounter with The Beautiful.

Of all the photography I tried to capture — of color and brush strokes and the emotion of eyes artfully painted, and the remarkable film work — this unfiltered, unplanned photo is the one I will cherish.

I took it without our son Edison in it, because the quote and child-like “Vincent” signature captured my attention. And then, in a flash (literally), he stepped into the frame, wearing his favorite cowboy hat and the venue-issued mask.

And then the photo became, for us, more priceless than an original van Gogh itself. (So if you own an original, don’t ask us to trade.) 😉
