After days of relentless rain, a neighbor woke me from REM around 6am to say that our cows were out of their pasture, wandering along humble Hilton Road. The good news is that they followed me (thanks to a few shakes of a bag of sweet feed) back into pasture. 😉

The night of Spring rain had passed…I mended the fences, removed some damaged limbs, served up some more feed: I did just enough to check the daily exercise box:

AM Homestead crossfit [X]

As I came to the side door at the Homestead and reached for the handrail, I (almost) grabbed hold of this tiger lily flower. It struck me. I encountered it. I thanked God for its simple beauty. But more: it brought to mind how He cares for even the lilies — and it reminded me of this poem:

WHAT IF YOU SLEPT?

What if you slept
And what if
In your sleep
You dreamed
And what if
In your dream
You went to heaven

And there plucked a strange and beautiful flower
And what if
When you awoke
You had that flower in your hand
Ah, what then?

-Samuel Taylor Coleridge
