A Waystation for Majestic Monarchs

Monarch butterflies have been a family favorite for years. When they were listed as endangered earlier this year, friends Tim and Cindy Wall helped us create a Monarch Waystation at Magnalia.

For the first time in a long time, I saw a majestic monarch floating-and-flitting (as only they can) and then resting by our front porch yesterday. It was such a sweet reward.

Then a group of our Crown & Pepper Gardeners, who were tending boxes and receiving new fruit trees that had just been delivered, found these caterpillars late in the day!

It’s working! Not all homestead experiences do, so we celebrate successes. 😉
