A week ago we marked the waning days of Christmastide with our annual Feast of St. Nicholas, which specially celebrates children who’ve been orphaned at some point in their lives — along with widows, whose tender hearts bring good cheer to those they meet.

So many stories! One of the young men who came, whose family is from Vietnam, talked of wanting to pursue military service in his new country. At 15 years of age, he inspired us! He was given a USMC Challenge Coin in Semper Fi Hall, along with a “charge” to stay the course toward serving others, and serving God, wherever the road ahead may take him.

That’s just one picture of so much that was life- giving in this special evening. What a Feast of GRATITUDE it was!

Thanks to all who served and made it happen, including Caleb Vogel for his festive piano accompaniment, Scott Van Eerden for his Christmas magic, and the culinary creations (and table service) from Elizabeth First McClellan, John Mark-Isabel Van Eerden, Ryan-Elizabeth Crawford, Ella McClellan, Rachel Van Eerden, Buzz and Lee Gallien, and Bill and Joanne Goens.

The Homestead is still glowing from the gladheartedness of it all. #gospel #blessings
