An Independence Day to Remember!

Sold Out

As every patriot knows, FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

Calendars are marked to celebrate Independence Day this year with friends from Magnalia Homestead Foundation and Mount Jubilee! On Saturday night, July 3, meet us at Magnalia Homestead & Farm in Stokesdale — the future home to The Jubilee Barn.

In addition to a spectacular fireworks show (called “the best east of the Mississippi” by partial observers), there will be:

  • » Todd Gentry’s famous BBQ and brisket sandwiches
  • » An Americana hot dog stand, with all the fixins
  • » A cotton candy machine (for kids of all ages)
  • » Patriotic music of all types
  • » Colonial and contemporary American games (stone put competition, corn hole, etc.)
  • » An Independence Day photo booth, with patriotic props
  • » U.S. history presentations in Semper Fi Hall, and historical documents in Library
  • » Rides for the kids
  • » Kids crafts tables and activities
  • » Red, White & Blue water balloon toss
  • » A castle bounce house
  • » Award-winning Shows of Wonders (for adults and kids)
  • » Animal exhibits (Barbados Sheep, Prairie Dog, Slate and Bronze Turkeys, Red Ear Slider Turtles, Polish Chicken (and her German, English and French friends), and Lionhead Rabbits)
  • » Pistol Shoot Competition (pistol, 3 bullets and target provided)
  • » Colonial Stew served at Walden Cabin
  • » Bee Hive Tour
  • » Big screen entertainment and drone demonstration as it gets dark
  • » And more! (full schedule will be emailed prior)

Tickets are free, though donations will be collected from food and beverage purchases and “tips” for special activities. Please come hungry, and be generous as this event happens with not insignificant cost and significant volunteer effort.

All donations will benefit Magnalia Homestead Foundation’s work to host veterans for meals and lodging in 2021 and to build The Jubilee Barn in support of its partnership with Mount Jubilee Ministries, to help serve the special needs community in the Triad.

Tickets were limited to 350 this year, so please RSVP to help us plan for you and yours! We’re excited to see you, and celebrate our great nation together.
