So this just happened at Magnalia Farm today: our first ewe lamb, and our first calf (endowed with a bull’s paraphernalia), were born within hours of each other!
Each time a birth happens, it’s a stunning, impossible (scary!) and wonderful adventure, taking us “further up and further in” to what it is to marvel at life, and the Creator of it all.
When we met the bull calf, I was reminded of James Herriet’s plain language full of the moment, like this sentence:
Then the bull shook himself, turned his head and looked at us.
Watching the heifer-momma now licking her bull calf clean leaves me full of awe and wonder. Intelligent Design is the mother of Instinct.
