Blessings Plus
A New Magnalia Ministry InitiativeMagnalia Homestead Foundation is helping to support an expansion of the Blessings PLUS ministry, which is a discipling initiative for men helping them to envision, develop, live and leave a legacy of blessings (and reconciliations) to and for their next generations.
The goal of Blessings PLUS is to create a replicable, five-session small group gathering of men who seek to be intentional in modeling the patriarchal biblical blessings evidenced throughout the Bible. You can learn more here.
Supporting this important initiative is particularly exciting to us, as Co-Executive Directors of Magnalia Homestead Foundation, because this strategic ministry is the fruit of the faithful witness of our Dad and Mom, Dick and Donna Van Eerden. With the prayerful support and wise encouragement of our Mom, Dad has mentored in different contexts literally hundreds of men across a span of decades.
Over the years we have also witnessed him steadfastly engaged in applying these principles in relationships with his children and their spouses, and with more than 30 grandchildren (and their spouses) and now more than 40 great-grandchildren.
All this to say, the wisdom and experience rooted in biblical practice of being a man who carries BLESSINGS is transformational.

The Blessings PLUS Ministry Initiative
Blessings PLUS! (“B+”) is a Biblically based, dynamically interactive, small group gathering of diverse but faith and family-focused Christian men.
Each of the five 2-hour sessions is thoughtfully structured, but flexible enough to allow for spontaneous Holy Spirit “AHA” moments and crosstalk exchanges.
There are 2-week intervals between sessions. Those intervals are intended to bake in scheduled time for new content absorption, individual introspective thinking, and next session prep.
Each B+ session is heritage and legacy-focused. Our strongly emphasized confidentiality commitment to each other encourages transparency; our accountability partnering creates both immediate and ongoing fraternal camaraderie. The overall intentional objective is to consider the principles of life-giving spiritual headship in our individual homes as we strive to become God-honoring “Personal Biblical Blessers” of others!
B+ is moderated by Dick Van Eerden, who is a father of 4, “Grandpa” to 30, and “Gramps” to 40 “greats” (and counting). B+ also features on-point contributions from other well-seasoned and credible legacy contributors.
Participants plan for 3-5 hours of prep time between sessions, and a $125 contribution to Magnalia Homestead Foundation (an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit foundation) to cover expenses.
